Saltburn Smugglers founders Professor Keith Ayling and Choir Leader Kate Ayling present a sea shanty workshop for all ages.
Having worked with hundreds of groups and schools across the UK, they bring a wealth of experience in singing and artist development.
Keith is currently Professor of Songwriting and Artist Development Lead at Leeds Conservatoire as well as Chair of Education for the IVORS Academy.
Together in the workshop, participants will explore a mixture of classic shanties and original songs of the sea, delving into North Yorkshire’s smuggling history, alongside vocal warmups and confidence boosting gems.
The workshop is suitable for singers of all abilities as well as those who are curious about sea shanties and their origins.
