The evening offers a taster for the week’s entertainment to come over the Festival week in February 2026 with festival artists performing poetry and music amongst the key features.

‘Winner of the Liverpool Acoustic Judges Award, Danny Bradley is a fingerstyle-folk guitarist and songwriter who has opened for Martin Carthy, Tony McManus, Jon Gomm, and Jeffrey Foucault. Born in the USA, but having grown up in the UK, Danny Bradley “is less a one man band, and more a one man orchestra… A poetic soul, and a sublime vocal range, reminiscent of the late Jeff Buckley”. Danny is touring with Fairport Convention in 2025 as the opening act on their Winter Tour.

Chris Sewart – Poet & Author
Chris will be leading our Poetry events at this year’s festival. He lives in Beverley and has been writing poetry for over 25 years.

He has been published in numerous journals and magazines and he has won many awards for his poems and literature. In 2019 he was the recipient of the Larkin Poetry Prize in the East Riding Festival of Words Poetry Competition and has since won the Gold Prize in the same competition, in 2021 and 2022, and was highly commended in 2020.

He has taught creative writing at libraries, as well as leading writing workshops as part of a creative writing group.
