MEET THE VOLUNTEERS… Janet

We want you to learn more about our amazing volunteers. So… this week our brilliant volunteer Janet is going to tell you a little bit about themself.

Where were you born and raised?
The village of Bilton, near Hull.

 

What is one of your best memories from childhood?
Holidays in Scarborough.

 

What was/is your job?
Teaching Assistant working with special needs children (retired).

 

What is one of your best memories from your working life?
One of my pupils (with Downs Syndrome) acting in Julius Caesar at Beverley Grammar School – so proud ☺️

 

Do you have any hobbies you enjoy?
I love traveling and crafting (I used to teach arts and crafts when we lived in Cyprus).

 

What is your favourite song?
‘Moondance’ by Van Morrison – or Michael Buble! ?

 

What do you normally do when volunteering your time to the theatre?
I mostly work on the box office but I’m also a volunteer coordinator.

 

What is one of your best memories from volunteering with ERT?
She productions bringing to life the wonderful story of the Hull girl band Mandy and the Girlfriends.

 

And finally, what has been your favourite ERT production?
Probably Goodnight Mr. Tom but I’ve never seen a show that I didn’t like! (Apart from that one!! Simon – you know which one ??).
